I'm pretty sure the game is no longer supported but I was hoping that someone could have an effective solution to my situation. I've been searching like crazy for a solution but I can't seem to find anything that works, I've tried running the game in compatibility mode for Win XP SP2, I've tried running the game as administrator, I'm running out of ideas.

The downside is that the software renderer lowers the resolution and the overall detail. This sort of thing happens very few times and for short periods of time making the game sort of playable unlike the Direct3D renderer that makes Harry and everything else flicker like crazy and never stops. Hey so I've been trying to install my old HP and the Chamber of Secrets on my 32bit Windows Vista laptop and whenever I select Direct3D as the renderer it makes the textures flicker like crazy, specially moving objects, I can lower the screen resolution and the graphics but it doesn't solve the issue, however whenever I select software renderer the textures do not flicker instead they tend to glitch and "make Harry Potter visible even when behind a wall".
